first let me start by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR!! i hope all you all have a blessed and productive one! win, win, WIN! with that being said, let's get right to it.

for the longest time i didn't want to like nicki minaj. being a hardcore lil kim fan to the death, i saw the colorful wigs, hot ass makeup, and the sexy pictures and just thought to myself "this bitch is a joke". then i heard some mixtape drops and a couple of features and was lightweight convinced. when "massive attack" came out, it totally pissed me off. i went back to thinking she was a joke. the track just didn't appeal to me. the only thing hot about it to me was the hook and beat. (even though nowadays in hip hop that's all you need =\) then, my esteemed colleague fresh sent me the pink friday album. i must say the first few tracks had me waiting for more. but then it just started going downhill. roman's revenge is by far the hottest track on the album and it's not even a solo track. i honestly like eminem's verses better, and not because it's a lil kim diss! lol. all in all it is a ~~great~~ album; i just expected more being as though there was so much hype behind it.

BLACK FRIDAY!! man oh man.. kim couldn't pick a better time to make a come back. when i first heard the track it blew me away. you hear that classic hardcore kim that us true fans know and love. if you've been under a rock listen to the track here a couple days ago, one of my followers on twitter tweeted that there was a video for the track. so this morning i went on youtube in search of it. i didn't find an official video, just some clips with the track playing in the background and even a video with the fight scene from the player's club. peep that here. while watching that, i found something interesting on the side bar. check it out.

i didn't realize how much shit nicki has done in the little bit of time she's been out. comparing to kim who's done just as much but has been around for years. nicki is younger and still has plenty of time to do her thing. only time will tell if she'll have longevity. summing it up, fuck all that versus shit. it all depends on who your favorite is.

i recently turned 30 (july 4th) and have been thinking more than i usually do. it was SO much that took place leading up to my birthday that just made me consider getting all new friends and leaving everybody else behind. why? let's just say if a person smiles in your face and cheers you on but secretly does everything in their power to sabotage what you have going for you, that's not a real friend. but you turn around and call me your ~~bestie~~. not to mention you talk about me to people that you met THROUGH me and you expect them not to say anything about it to me? of course everything was denied. i feel like if you have to keep saying "you know me! you know i wouldn't say something like that!" yelling at the top of your lungs, 9 times out of 10 you actually said that shit. c'mon son! i am truly a nice person that wears her heart on her sleeve, but i'm not gullible. and of course after all the drama, the guilty person has yet to call me. which is fine because i don't have shit to say to her. she's always doped up on some type of meds and sleeping her fuckin life away anyways so we don't have anything to talk about. my focus is ME.. always has been always will be. i'm not one to put up with anybody's bullshit. my circle is tight-knit and the people in it are riders that care about me and let me shine and vice-versa... just the way it should be. like i always say if you can't keep up, your ass will be left behind.

what better to express your love than with alcohol? valentine's day is a day for lovers, and here are some cocktail recipes that will set the tone for romance. and some that will just get the blood boiling for a steamy, freaky night. happy valentine's day and enjoy! :-)

agave kiss (pictured at left)

2 oz (shots) tequila
1 oz creme de cacao (white)
1 oz heavy cream
1 oz chambord
white chocolate flakes
fresh raspberries

in a shaker with ice, add tequila, chambord, creme de cacao, and cream. shake and strain into a white chocolate rimmed cocktail glass. garnish with a spear of fresh raspberries.

woo-woo (very pretty chick)

1 oz vodka
1/2 oz peach schapps
cranberry juice

in a collins glass with ice, add vodka and peach schnapps. splash cranberry juice. shake before serving/drinking.

gorgeous (on the rocks)

3/4 oz grand marnier
3/4 oz amaretto

in a rocks glass with ice, add grand marnier and amaretto. sip slow! LOL

fuzzy balls

1/2 oz peach schnapps
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz midori or melon liquer
grapefruit juice
cranberry juice

in a sour rocks glass with ice, add peach schnapps, vodka, and midori. balance half grapefruit juice and half cranberry juice. shake before serving/drinking.

chocolate martini

2 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz creme de cacao (white)
hershey's kisses
powdered cocoa

in a shaker with ice, add vodka and creme de cacao. strain into a powdered cocoa rimmed cocktail (martini) glass. tip: you can either add the hershey's kiss to the bottom of the glass before straining, add a spear of kisses, or substitute with a chocolate swizzle stick.

so, i almost forgot this special was coming on lastnight. i'm glad i turned to it when i did and watched it to the end. many great faces performed, made appearances and answered phones to take donations. including ludacris, justin beiber, busta rhymes, mary j blige, and nas. but the big surprise to me and i'm sure alot of loyal fans was chris brown performing "crawl" and "with you". i screamed like i was there and even waved my lighter. i love you chris!!

that i start blogging again. what's the problem you ask? i let me domain and space expire with no intensions on renewing it. lol, it seems like once i finally got everything up and running, i blogged less. now i'm too the point where i have so much to say it's ridiculous. in due time, i will get my site back. but for the time being, i will be blogging here. fly high!
